Dear Friend, As you already know, America's schools are drenched in violence. Our tri-state areas are not immune. Recent incidents confirm our suspicion that thousan
d of our kids, even at the elementary level, carry guns, knives, and other deadly weapons into the classroom each and every day.
The epidemic of violence is matched only by the epidemic of bias, and many tragedies show that the two are intrinsically intertwined. Our mission is clear:
"Stop the hate and Stop the violence".
It's a lofty goal, but the
Jelly Bean Theatre Company (JBTC) believes it can offer both the vision and concrete means to make this dream a reality.
As the Executive Producer/Director of this versatile, culturally diverse group of professional actors, I am pleased to promote the successful Social Issues, non-threatening, educational
Jelly Bean Program
(JBP).
The initiative enhances understanding, and reduces classroom conflict that all-too-frequently result in violence and destructive behavior. Each dramatic vignette is age and grade appropriate, with follow-up discussions and exercises designed to allow for a provocative and enlightening experience.
We firmly believe that this proactive program is important in today's education. It has the ingredients necessary for making the positive changes that we all desire.
We look forward to serving you. Thank you.
Most sincerely, Dr. Bertram A. Holmes Executive Producer/Director "Fax #: 631-979-6797" |
